Rev Scott Swix

Pastor Scott began serving the PALM congregations of St Stephens Lutheran (Gold Hill) and Mt Gilead Lutheran (Mt Pleasant) as Interim Pastor in Feburary 2024.  With a passion for faith formation, including education and spiritual growth, Pastor Scott loves preaching, teaching, coaching and equipping others for ministry as groups and individuals, learning other folk’s stories of life and faith, helping people perceive God loves them, is with them and is working in their lives.   Ordained in 2006, he has served a number of congregations in Michigan and North Carolina.  

Favorite Bible Verse: Micah 6:8  “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Simple motto for a life of faith in Christ: Err on the side of grace.

Prior to being called to ordained ministry Pastor Scott enjoyed a career in the multimedia computer industry with IBM, Kaleida Labs and ATT/BellSouth, and considers that time a wonderful adventure and a valuable preparation for the ministry.  Many years (20) working with fun toys (audio, video, animation, touch screens, satellites, streaming video, interactive TV and more).   Outside of "church stuff" Pastor Scott currently enjoys leather craft, martial arts, hiking, kayaking and disc golf.
Pastor Scott and his wife Kim are blessed with two adult sons, who live entirely too far away with their own families.
